Kitchen Fryer Fire in Carson City

A kitchen fire flared up and spread very quickly. The smoke and soot from this electrical fryer, loaded with chicken, covered a large area of the ceiling, walls, and other hard and soft surfaces. For successful removal, this wet smoke needed dry sponges and cleaning agents to remove the black coating. This precise cleaning salvaged the walls and a portion of the ceiling, needing only a repainting. The firefighters broke open the ceiling to make sure that there were no smoldering ashes or embers. We cleaned up the table and chairs and wiped down the appliances before any negative acidic pitting could occur to the metal casings and chip components. We applied a thermal fogging technique to eliminate the odors and also to capture smelly particles of smoke.
